Terms of sale and refund policy (English)

These terms cover buying flames in the match shop inside Philosophew (philosophew.lol). They say plainly what you get, what you pay, when the flames arrive and when you can have your money back. Paying means you have read and accepted them.

Who sells

The match shop belongs to one person, selling as an individual, not as a company:

Payments are taken through Beam Checkout, the payment service of Beam Data Co., Ltd.

What you buy

The match shop sells flames by the box. One flame draws one quote card, once. A flame is a licence to use Philosophew and nothing more: it is not money, has no cash value, cannot be moved or sold to another account, and can never be exchanged for money, except through a refund under the refund policy below.

You need to be signed in to buy. The flames go to that account, work on every device signed in to it, and do not expire while the account exists. When you pull, the app spends the day’s free flames first and your bought flames only after those.

The free flames your lamp gives you each day stay the same, and buying flames never changes the card odds.

Prices

Prices are in Thai baht and are the whole amount you pay: we add no fee or tax at checkout. Your bank or card issuer may charge its own fees, for example on a card from abroad.

• Seneca safety matches: 38 flames, 99 baht
• Nietzsche safety matches: 80 flames, 199 baht
• Plato safety matches: 220 flames, 499 baht
• Heraclitus safety matches: 480 flames, 999 baht

Your first purchase lights twice the flames: a box of 10 gives 20. This happens once per account, on the first order that is paid. If that order is refunded later, the extra flames go with it, and the double does not come back.

Prices and box sizes may change, but an order always keeps the price and the flames shown when it was made.

How to pay

You can pay in two ways: scan the PromptPay QR shown on our page with your banking app, or pay by card on Beam Checkout’s own page.

Your card number is typed only on Beam’s page and never passes through our site or our servers. Each QR code works for the time shown on the payment page.

When the flames arrive

The flames reach your account as soon as Beam confirms the payment, on every device you are signed in on. A receipt then goes to your account’s email address.

If you paid and the flames have not arrived, write to philosophew@yahoo.com with the number on your receipt or your proof of payment. We will check with Beam, then either add the flames or refund you in full.

Age

To buy, you must be 20 or older, or have your parent’s or guardian’s consent. If someone under 20 bought without consent, their parent or guardian can ask for a refund under the policy below.

Refund policy

We want every purchase to be one you meant. If you change your mind or something goes wrong, you can have your money back in these cases:

• Change of mind within 14 days of buying: if none of that purchase’s flames has been used, we refund it in full. It counts as unused when your account still holds at least as many bought flames as that purchase gave you, bonus included.
• Flames already used cannot be refunded, and if part of a purchase has been used, we cannot yet refund only the rest.
• Charged twice, or paid and no flames arrived: we always refund that payment in full, however long ago it was. If a duplicate payment did add flames, they are taken back with the refund.
• A buyer under 20 who bought without consent: their parent or guardian can have that purchase refunded in full, and its flames are taken out of the account.

A card you did not hope for, such as no gold leaf yet, is not a reason for a refund: the odds are there to see before you buy.

To ask, reply to your receipt email or write to philosophew@yahoo.com from your account’s email address, with the number on the receipt and a short reason. We answer within 7 days.

The money goes back the way you paid, through Beam. When it reaches you depends on your bank or card issuer, and can take several weeks. If Beam cannot send it back that way, we will contact you to return it another way. Once a purchase is refunded, its flames are taken out of your account.

If a refunded purchase’s flames were already used, say on a device that had not synced yet, your bought flames go below zero. Your free daily flames still work as usual, but the next flames you buy fill that gap first.

Card odds

Every room has an “Odds” button with the real numbers behind each pull: foil 3% and gold leaf 0.5% a pull, everything else paper, and a card that shines (foil or gold) is certain within 20 pulls.

Gold leaf: from the 71st pull after your last gold its chance rises by 6% a pull, and it is certain within 90. On average gold leaf comes about once in 63 pulls and foil once in 17. The sheet also shows where you stand right now. Bought flames and free flames have exactly the same odds.

The same sheet explains how the machine picks a line, and every thinker can be met with the free daily flames: no rare card is ever required. If we ever change these numbers, the sheet will show the new ones before they apply.

If you delete your account

Bought flames belong to your account. If you delete the account, any bought flames you have not used go with it. To ask for a refund on a purchase still inside its 14 days, ask before deleting: afterwards we can no longer check that its flames were unused. A payment that arrives after the account was deleted has no account to hold its flames, so we refund it in full.

The record of each sale (what was bought, the amount, how it was paid, when, and the email address the receipt went to) is kept as Thailand’s Revenue Code requires, no longer linked to any account. The privacy policy has the details.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Thai law, and nothing in them takes away any right you have as a consumer under Thai law. If something goes wrong, please write to us first: we would rather put it right.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app before a change that matters takes effect. Each purchase follows the terms in force on the day it was made.

If we ever stop selling flames or close Philosophew, we will say so in the app at least 30 days before, and the flames you bought keep working until the day it closes.
